Are they from the plane pak or individual downloads?

gt, if he got them from the contest pak I don't think there would be sound folders...wasn't it a par file? That's why I asked him where he got them. If I'm wrong, sorry.

Ok heres the scoop on this: I downloaded all the patches in the correct order as per the fighter squadron website, when i look into the C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\Media\Aircraft--- all i am seeing is the:FW190a,FW190a3, FW190a8, FW190d9, Ju88A4, lanc, ME262, P47. I know there should be the P51 Mustang and the P38, as well as the Spitfire, B17, and Mosquito, but they are not listed. :-( I had the game installed before and had Meatwaters Sound Pak installed as well as Gunjam sound pak. I tried reinstalling the game with the patches and sound paks in their correct locations. C:\ProgramFiles\Fighter Squadron\Media\Aircraft\Sounds. The planes would start-up, but i was getting no "running engine" sounds. Do these sound paks add aircraft folders with the sounds?

Thanx for reading

When you say planes are not showing, do you mean not showing in the game or not showing in the media/aircraft folder? The ones you listed are among the 10 that came out of the box. It's been awhile but as I recall we had to create the media/aircraft/aircraftname folders for them since they are parfile planes.

As for no sounds...if it's just the P-47 and the Corsairs with no engine sound and you got them from the Contest Pak then you won't have a media/aircraft/P47/sounds folder (for example). The contest pak default sounds are in par files. If you have contest pak planes with no sounds I don't know what the problem is.

Is it just the engine sound you don't hear? Can you hear guns, flaps, gear, etc. on the same planes?

Yes i hear all the other sounds from the P47 and Corsair except "engine run". The flaps, guns, gear etc. sound fine. Its ok cuz i dont really fly the training missions too much, just want to hear everything ya know? Also after i downloaded all the patches, plane pak, contest pak etc. the only planes i dont see is the Typhoon, Spit, and P51D. But after installing meatwaters sound pak, i see them; and that only gives me a texture folder. If you could tell me after "you" installed all the patches except meatwaters sound pak, what plane folders showed up for you? I'm just trying to figure out if it was the original installation or the patches that are not giving me the extra plane folders. I only get up to the P47 after all the patches.
I havent been around for a while since i reformatted and had to get some of my files back, and noticed a new sound upgrade for the game which i am going to install soon.

I wouldnt be such a pain in the arse about this if i didnt love the game so much...LOL
Please bear with me......
thanx for all your help also,

hmmmm....wish I was more of guru to help you. Meatwater's soundpack shouldn't affect the Corsair or the P-47. They both came after he did his sound thing.

Is the engine sound missing on all models of the Corsair? There are 3 or 4 including the British Corsair II.

To be missing just the engine run sound is baffling. Do you have a default enginerun.wav in your Media/Sounds folder. This should kick in when a plane doesn't have it's own sound.

I'm still not clear on whether you downloaded the Corsairs/P-47 with the contest pack or as individual downloads. If with the contest pak they both have their own set of distinctive sounds, and if some work they should all work.

Maybe jedi and Team Jug could send you just the enginerun.wav for each so you can place it each one's sound folder. It won't fix the problem but it will give you sound.

Planepak 6 is coming out shortly. Hopefully that will cure everything.

Hey everything appears to running fine now, Dont ask me what i did but maybe by not installing Gunjam sounds helped. Maybe their were too many media files getting mixed up and conflicting with one another.
1) Reinstalled game.
2) Installed patches
3) SoundPak Ver.1
4) Meatwaters Pak

I dont know what the hell happened, but it happened,,,,LMAO. Go figure.

I really appreciate you guys helping me out!
as much as you could.
