During an online game tonight with regen I got killed and when I regened the plane was uncontrollable.

I exited game and looked at joystick calibration, it was off so I recalibrated which would not work, the X and Y axis would not stick in the same place and moved out of sync with stick movements. Next tried to removed Saitek Cyborg 3d Digital from controller list and readded it, this time it recalibrated ok.

Started up SDOE but still no good, elevators, ailerons jammed at full on and rudder jammed at center. Back in contoller test showed calibration wrong again.

Next replaced Saitek with two old analogs using splitter, old setup which used to work fine, found exactly same probs again.

Ran Dxdiag and found following error,

-------------
Input Devices
-------------
Device Name: Three axis, two button
Driver Name: Default
Driver Version: ()
Driver Attributes: Final Retail
Date and Size: , 0 bytes

Registry: Errors found:
Key 'HKCR\CLSID\{92187326-72B4-11d0-A1AC-0000F8026977}\InProcHandler32', Value '', should be 'gchand.dll', but is ''.
Key 'HKCR\CLSID\{92187326-72B4-11d0-A1AC-0000F8026977}\ProgID' is missing.

Dxdiag suggested reinstalling DirectX

This I did with DirectX 7a, my current version.

Tried again same result

Tried Panzer Elite just in case it was SDOE, same result.

Every time I start a directX game the Joystick calibration is screwed. I can recalibrate after removing the controller and adding it again but cannot get it to work in a DirectX game.

Any suggestions, I cant try raider's P51 beta 3 out until I can sort this out.

Your registry looks screwed. Maybe you could repair it by hand but it's a bit tricky (you'd better back it up first), the best would be to have an already made back up and replace your registry with it.

Is your joystick port on your soundcard, or are you using USB? I suggest reinstalling your system joystick drivers (msjstick, vjoy etc.....) from the Win9x CD.

Argon, its a gameport on an SB live, I,ve reinstalled the 2 drivers you mention and the Creative Gameport driver. The Saitek digital calibration now won't work on rudder and ailerons but is ok with everything else. If i plug in the old analog joysticks they calibrate fine but in game only the fire buttons and the throttle axis work, the rudder, alierons and elevator are all at full defection and will not respond. The calibrations dont get corrupted by starting a DirectX game now, but its strange that the analogs calibration is fine before and after but not in the game. Have reinstalled Direct7X again but still same result but registry has stayed uncorrupted. HELP.

I am sure I have posted this before but its gone AWOL. Got analog joysticks working by swopping soundcards first to old one and then back to SB live, Saitek still will not work with either soundcard so its going back for replacement. Luny, ArgonV, thanks for the help.
