Sorry, I know this is off topic, but I need help. I have a Pioneer DVD-113 player that will not load some DVDs. CD-ROMS, CDs, and some DVDs work fine. It seems to be the titles with dual-layering or DTS sound--Saving Private Ryan and Interview with the Vampire. The DVDs are fine; I tested them on a friends player. When the DVDs start loading they make a clicking noise as if the drive is struggling to load them. When I go to "My Computer" it simply says "Drive:R" as if it were empty. I have the newest firmware for this drive, and have updated to the 4.60 ASPI layer. I'm using windows98. Can you think of any reason they wouldn't load? ThanksIP: Logged |

Try disabling UFS. I had problem running the latest James Bond movie and tech support told me to disable UFS and it worked fine. I think the model I have is a 103s (IDE slot fed).Oh yeah, I can't remember how to do it, but check on the Realmagic home page, they tell you how to do it there. Search for 'The World is Not Enough'. Thanks for answer Whirlwind. I tired that a while back and it didn't help. I read somewhere that I shouldn't have DOS drivers for DVD-ROM in my configsys. and autoexec.bat in windows98, but I found "REM [CD-ROM Drive]" in both. Is that what they were talking about? Are these entires supposed to be in windows98, and if not, could someone tell me how to get rid of them? Thanks IP: Logged |

Those are ok as the a REMarked out. Turning off UFS didn't help? Ok.. it might just be a bad drive. You might also want to check for loose cables in desperation...IP: Logged |

Thanks again Whirlwind. What I disabled was UDF. I thought that was it. I'll try to find out about UFS.IP: Logged |
