Can these all co-exist "peacefully"? I'd like to add them back (after a clean re-install). I have the 1.5 patch and Plane Pack 5.3b running perfectly now...

Well..I have them all, plus the Midway terrain, and I haven't really noticed any problems that weren't already there. My ctd's online seem higher suddenly, but that may be due more to my DSL ISP than anything else. Otherwise, all seems to be working ok.

Thanks...but I noticed several "wierd" things, among them:

1. "World War I" missions shows up as a selection in the missions menu in the game, but there is no "World War I" folder under the \Media\Missions\ directory...so how do I add missions to this category? If I add a "World War I" folder to the \Missions\ directory, then it shows up twice in the game menu.

2. The Zero is listed as a german plane (rather than Japanese)...?

3. The Se5a roll rate seems HYPER-sensitive...I can't really fly it without crashing.

Can anyone help me out with these? By the way, I have installed - in the following order - the 1.5 patch, Plane Pack 5.3/5.3b, Nations 1.0 (with fix), Contest Pack 1.1, and the WWI Plane Pack.

Hi Geodude,

1. Most of the pack files are compressed int he data15.par file. You just need to create a media/missions/World War 1 folder and then put your missions in there, they will show up along with the pack wwi mission(s)

3. Zur did the FM, it is a showcase of a WWI aircraft that snap rolls and can fall into a spin like the real thing. However, it is not perfect yet as you have found, it is "twitchy." If you practice a bit with it you can fly it quite well, Ernst can shoot me down from his SE5a - but I doubt that it is realistic as it stands. But on the other hand, some other WW1 planes that feel better are spin-proof and will not snap roll - so neither is "correct," they are just working experiments, a step in the climb towards creating realistic WWI flight models...

Thanks, guys...re: # 1 above, I did create a "World War I" subdirectory under the \Media\Missions\ directory, and have no problem adding - and using - missions that I create and put there. The problem - really just more of an annoying glitch - is that after doing so, there are TWO entries for "World War I" in the drop-down Theater selection box in the game's Missions screen, one containing all my missions in the folder I created, and one containing the single mission that came with the WWI pack. How do I get rid of that "ghost" folder with the single mission (which is NOT found in the \Media\Missions\ directory - that one is the one I created, with my own missions)?

Hopefully I'm being clear on this...

Thanks,

Geodude

Are they spelled exactly the same? You should just end up with one folder... strange...

You can not get rid of any WWI pack files without un-installing the WWI pack, but you can over ride them. If you add a media/aircraft/SE5a folder and put an old version of the SE5a in there, it will be used instead of the wwi pack SE5a... files and folders in your media folder over ride files and folders compressed in the data15.par file (the wwi pack)

AHHH...I had used a "1" rather than an "I" for my "World War I" missions folder...that's fixed now. And I took the Se5a.sm file from release 10 of that plane (the individual plane download) and put it in the Se5a folder, and all is well now...I can fly it (previously, the wings were broken off and I was falling toward the ground as soon as it appeared on my screen).

Thanks, Sv...

Well, I was referring to compatibility...but as to the Zero...I think there is a file you can edit to put it in the correct Nations' place, but I forget the procedure. There is a thread on it here somewhere, if you try a search, you should come across it..

nealg,

Thanks for the tip - I found it here:

Re: compatibility, I WAS concerned with that issue as well, but like you said, they're all working fine together.

Oops...spoke too soon...I have NO A6M5 directory under \Media\aircraft\ even though I DO have a Zero available in the game and in missions.

Do you have the Zero's loadout.ppf file that I can put in that directory (after I create it)?

Man, these add-ons are GREAT, but they do create a little bit of work to iron out little persistent kinks...

OK...disregard the above message...I got it fixed.

I just downloaded the Zero's zip file from FSHangar, extracted the "loadout.ppf" file and put it in a new \Media\aircraft\A6M5\ directory, and edited the string from "strGermay" to "strJapan", and all is fine.

I also had to extract the two hangar art files and place them into the (new) correct directory for the hangar art to display correctly.

Whoever is in charge of the next plane pack might want to note this...but you probably already know it...I'm just babbling...
