Hi All, After reading so many good things about SDOE, I went out and purchased it in one of the compilation volumes. I tried installing it on my Windows 2000 laptop, and it gives me a "You must have Win95/98" message, even after installing the Windows 2000 compatibility patch. Can anyone help me? Am I getting this message because I'm using a laptop? Thanks, Robert IP: Logged |

The setup does nothing but copy files over. Somewhere on the cd (I cant remember right now) are the actual game files, like SDemons.exe etc.Just copy those over and I think it will work. IP: Logged |

thanks for the tip, but it now gives me "incorrect installation". I'm assuming either there are some missing files, or it is looking for keys in the registry. Anyone have any other ideas? Robert IP: Logged |

also there is a point of note here aswell... maney of the newest aircraft will not work for you on a laptop, infact, I believe almost every new plane will only play in D3D or Glide, but NOT in software mode.. This is ofcourse assuming that your laptop doesnt have a 3D card... I've no idea where modern laptops are upto now, so I thought I better mention it to save you posting about getting CTD's with all the new stuff installed.~Nat~ PS.. if you look back a couple of weeks through the FAQ forum, there are some posts about this, mposis converted some of his aircraft to fly in software mode after this problem was found. ------------------ JV44 "Naturlich" If you can't out run em.. OUT GUN EM! Nats FS-SDOE Site IP: Logged |

Thanks very much for everyone's help. I wasnt aware about the add on plane issues. I'm glad I didnt install them yet.BTW I was able to finally get things running by 1) copying everything over from the cd and 2) changing the path to the sdoe directory in the ini file. IP: Logged |

There is also a program that comes on the windows 2000 CD to make it mimick windows 98 so older programs can install TS
