If it CTDs at the loading screen see when it crashes.

If crashes at 'ground units' that means the test mission has a unit you do not have. Check mission with mission edtor.

'aircraft' means error at a/c loading. Check fuel load in the hangar or test mission.

Actually, those checkmarks don't have anything to do with where it is in the loading process. About 70% of the time is spent loading the terrain. But we found people didn't like sitting there for a long time with nothing changing on the screen while we loaded the terrain. Just think of those checkmarks as a progress bar. That's closer to how they actually work.

Check the error.log and see what the last few lines say.

Hello there, I'm actually ArmyPuke above.

I discovered that if it crashes or locks at the 'terrain' its due to low memory. Try using control-alt-delete and close unwanted programs to free up some mem.
