OK-- I haven't had the time or energy until now to do this...come to think of it I still don't...but I have finally gotten sick of having to take out special planes and such I have downloaded that don't mesh with the online standard. So I want to put another SDOE on the computer that has only the bare minimum...how do I do this? I tried renaming the install to Fighter Squadron Naked...and it wouldn't open up- I kept getting an illegal operation or something...so what do those of you who have 2 or 3 installs on your machines do? Thanks in advance!!

When I re-installed my machine I just installed from the CD, added the planepacks and patch(s) and then copied the whole lot to another directory. You need to change the MediaPath in the copied ini file to point to the new place.

I have one on a shortcut called 'SDOE Online' and the other 'SDOE Development'

Another way would be to just copy the 'sdoe' directory from the CD, copy/create and modify the ini to suit and then apply all of the patches and stuff.

If you want to get fancy and save some disk space, you might be able to just have the extra files in the 'SDOE Dev' section and point the ini CDMedia section to the 'SDOE Online' version to get the missing files.

For example the terrain hasn't changed much so you might be able to share that 250M or so.

Hope some of that helps

Thanks Bryan...I figured it out...I had placed in my keyboard.inp before applying the 1.5 patch (didn't want to have to change the joystick stuff) and it wouldn't install the patch without the original files...so I now have a clean install, the patch, PP 5.3 and 5.3b, and the Contest Pack...so why do I have the new model P-51?...or at least I think I do---it seems pretty detailed for the default Pony...

Dont forget to change the SDOEMedia path in the ini file otherwise you will just use the same stuff in both copies
