I found the contest pack with the P-47 and the Hurricane. The P-47 is beautiful but the Hurricane seems to have the same problems that the Bf 109 F and G have - transparent parts of the plane from the point of view of the cockpit - nothing serious, just a little jarring.

Also, I can't get some of the planes in the various packs to work on my computer - the computer just exits back into windows whenever I try them out. I've encountered this problem so far with the Corsair, the Zero and the Shooting Star. There're probably others but I haven't checked them all.

However, I've got enough planes to play with for now - enough so I can start making some vaguely historical accurate missions.

What contest pack did you install ? Contest pack 1.1 is the latest one. If you are installing some of the older zip file conest packs they have several problems mostly due to the fact that there is a lot that needs to be manually edited and installed.

I have the latest pak installs and yes the Hurricane does have some "gaps" in the canopy frame and along the right sidewall when viewed from the cockpit. I am running Glide with a 12mb Voodoo2. I attributed them to the fact that Bryan released the Hurricane before he was satisfied with it due to popular demand and contest deadlines.

They are minor annoyances only and I only bring it up to confirm Flash's observation so he knows it's not just his install.

Hi, all.

I'll have to check and see what graphics card I have - when I bought my computer, I didn't have games in mind...until I saw all those WWII sims in the Virgin Megastore and promptly went insane.

I've found gaps in the cockpits of some of the other planes as well - specifically, the P-47, Hurricane and the Bf109F and Bf109G.

Another problem that seems to pop up is the game just crashing and exiting into Windows. I haven't been able to fly the Zero or any of the other Pacific Theater planes due to this occurrance. Other times, during a 'graphically intense' moment, the game crashes into Windows as well. Am I the only one suffering from this or is it fairly common?

Thanks.

Flash,

If you are using software renderer then the Zeros will cause a crash to desktop.

Thanks mposis and all the other who answered my post...

I've been using the software renderer. It's rather amazing that the game has run as well as it has. Unfortunately, I don't have a graphics card and I'm not likely to get one in the near future. Seeing as how all the none 'out of the box' planes cause my sad old crate to crash, I'm going to have to just plug away at the planes that came with the game. Sniff...que faire?

Later days.
