Can someone please help.

Every time i try to use certian imported planes,
sdoe will load until i see a glimpse of the cockpit then it will restet back to my desktop, I also can't update to the 1.50 patch, I get error message

>error ept0036: old file not found. however, a file off the same name was found. no update done since file contents do not match.<

I think my exe might be corrupt,

I would be very greatfull if someone could tell me of any links i could download the exe.

or, if anyone feels generous enough to e-mail it to me.

Thanks,

Gary

No problem ! remove (unistall SDOE) completly. Then step by step:

Install the "normal"-shipped version

Then the 1.5. official patch

(soundpacks etc ~ like the Meatwater stuff)

Read the readme of the user-build planes - most of them need some extra changes in some files...it should all be described in the readme of the planes...

This should work

Thanks,

But i should have mentioned that i can not reinstall sdoe from the cd, the install gets about half way through then freezes, i discovered this when i tried installing it on a friends m/c.

i really dont want to uninstall sdoe from my m/c as i know i wont be able to reinstall.

Any ideas ?

Will i have to re-buy SDOE ?

AMD K6-2 500Mhz,TNT2 ultra,
windows 98,alladin V chipset on main board

PS

The cd is dirty or scratched ? try to install from a real slow CD-Rom (I have one for such bad CDs - 4x). That often works with scratched CDs for me..

Yess Gazz,

1. The 150 patch only works if you haven't fiddled with anything in the original install, even something as minor as the Sdemons.ini or keyboard.inp file, which are user-modifiable items. So therefore the originals of these files are important.

2. Just as a thought, perhaps the damaged files on your CD are the movies. TRY, when you do an install onto another machine, or yours if needs be, NOT CLICKING on the movies check-box at the beginning of the set-up.

It really worries me if I cannot make backup discs of programs. I only use my backup of FSSDOE and Red Baron to run or load the game. I recently bought Hidden and Dangerous, made my backup and hey presto! they have an anti-backup thingy which means the backup just won't run ...

I am thinking of taking it back because of this alone.

Salute

Gazz, I had major probs with Alladin V chipset with TNT2 card,in end swopped mother board for an Fic one with diff chipset, It works fine now. Allegedly it can be made to work with the latest AGP bus and IDE drivers but not in my case. Heard root cause is the motherboard not giving correct voltage to AGP bus on Gigabyte MB's which mine was.
