Well I tried a take off in a P51D......... More like a nose over! LOL! Anyone know how to take this thing off?! I finally was able to not flip it but when I reached 90Mph the wing dropped to the left and I couldn't get it off the ground!!! What gives!?!?
I then tried a landing training mission..... I decided to get use to the aircraft so I tried some turns...... I rolled the plane slightly and gave it a little rudder and it immediately went into this uncontrollable dive! Help Please! This same type of problem occurs with the 262......

The Bf109k is another story! I can't even get the sucker to 90Mph without screwing something up!!

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks,

Hmmm....

Of hand it sounds like you have your joystick's sensitivity set WAY to high ...

Try moving your joystick sentivity sliders all-the-way to their minimum. If that still is to sensitive, it is possible to text-edit the appropriate lines in your sdemons.ini to even lower values.

To check this ... drop into a take-off training mission, go to an external view and move you joystick around while watching the deflection of the control surfaces.

You "WANT" as close to a 1-to-1 input to control-surface responce as possible.

Also ... (I don't know what it's called) ... there is also a program out there that further allows one to ajust the sensitivity of joysticks.

Hope that helps!

Also, you may need the CTFJ utility that lets you scale the joystick input http://home.att.net/~stickworks/

As for takeoffs, these aircraft have LOT of power a BIG propellers. You have to be easy on the throttle and use your rudder. Couple stearing to the rudder in the Options screen. Keep a little back pressure on the stick until you hit 50-60 MPH to use the tail wheel to stear. Don't pull back too soon to get off the runway. Let the plane fly off and build up speed.

For the p51, use full flaps, full back stick full throttle once you are lined up on the runway (make sure you're lined up good!). Once you hit 70mph center the stick so the tail comes up and use rudder to keep it on the runway.

Not sure about the 262 every time I give it a little gas on the runway it flips over backwards and snaps its tail off.

Yes, I need Sticky's Stickworks (CTFJ3) program to fly any of the german propeller fighters at all.

I reduce the aileron sensitivity to about 95% and set the sensitivity curve to quite flat (2 downward clicks on the button next to the graphical control thingy). The latter still means nice fine control near the centre of the stick, but still have maximal (in my case 95%) control available for quick rolls.

I set the elevator control to 95% as well.

NOTE: I also have the joystick sensitivity in FSSDOE set as LOW as possible.

Without these settings, I could never get off the ground.

Also the FLAPS as mentioned above helps a lot.

And, you don't need 100% throttle when you are taking off. It just increases the torque too much.

And, finally, sometimes I need to move the joystick, not just rudders, to counteract the tendency to deviate to one side from the runway and that tendency to bury a wing tip.

Good LUCK\
