Topic: Contest Pack 1.1 glitch?

Well Im about tired of reinstalling this game and its many patches,,but i have noticed that after installing the contestpack 1.1 that i get the no engine sounds,,,and allot less planes....im stumped.
Can activision just make one huge patch instead of all these little ones.

For one those little patches aren't made by activision they are made by the community. Now on to your problem.Did you install everything in the order that they are listed on the online standard page ? Do you have the WWI Beta2 pack installed ? Check your fighter squadron media directory and see if you have a sounds.ppf file there. Give me more info and I can get you going in the right direction. IP: Logged |

Hey Dogma,
thanx for responding. I installed each patch and played the game and up until the contest pak 1.1, thats where i had problems as this patch installs planes i assume. What i did was installed the contestpak1.1 into the media folder instead of the standard directory. And now i have the sounds back.
And yes the sounds file is there in the media folder, but it is not labled "ppf" just sounds. And no i dont have the WW1 beta2 pak. Do i need it?..and why does my sounds file not say "ppf" and should it? But it appears to be running ok for now,,but i havent been online yet for the real test.Thanx for your help..... IP: Logged |

The contest pack installer searches for your Fighter Squadron directory automatically. You don't need to change the location after it has located your copy.IP: Logged |
