I Reinstalled the game,,and the grueling patches (in order), even reinstalled the sound card,,but to no avail,,I cant hear squat!!!
The engines fire up fine,,but there's a moment where it sounds like a glitch in between starting and idling, then its quiet.  IP: Logged |

Yes it appears everything else is ok, voices, gun sounds, intro etc. i am messing with it as we type. I installed the Meatwater soundpak into the fighter squadron directory,I hope thats where it goes and not into media folder,,,but i tried playing it without this patch and it still had no engine sound. Im still trying everything without altering any files or folders, not much else i can do. Worked fine lastnight....hmm?IP: Logged |

Are you using Beta patch 1.5.1 build 76? It is a known problem with it. You hear all other sounds (even engine start), but no engine sounds.------------------

Thanx Raider,,I have all the current "online standards" installed in the correct order,,and you hit it on the head with my problem. I actually tested every plane from the United States and it seems that all the fighters planes except B17F, A36A Apache, B17G, have this problem. What happens is when the engine starts and just before idling the screen pauses for a split second then "WHAM" no sound.
Thanx for responding, i am gonna keep pluggin away and hopefully something will give. And check if i have that beta 1.5.1 build 76 installed.

sw!\/ET ^I^ - What a damn name  !!!I guess you dont use build 76 (cause you would see some graphic bug too.. Try to install bit for bit - when see (hear) the problem already with the first "normal" install, then it is something wrong with your comp (I mean SDOE doesnt like you hardware), then install the patch (public patch 1.5) and listen, then install the soundpack from meatwater and so on... Anyway, yes i reinstalled the game,then applied each patch and ran it. I found out that the contestpak1.1 was the culprit. But to be safe I deleted anything and everything "fighter squadron" reinstalled all the patches,,and what do ya' know it works!........WoooHoo
