Hello:I've been adding aircraft to my copy of SDOE this weekend and I'm having trouble with the following aircraft: P-47 He-162 I've installed the latest planepack and the patch. I've also installed other aircraft with success such as the P-80 and Ta-152. Whenever I try a training mission in the P-47, I see the cockpit and the game exits to Windows. I'm not doing anything different with the installation of these aircraft. This also happens when I design a mission with the aircraft. Thanks for any help...

Brent, Thats typically a sign that the airfoils aren't listed properly in the startup.ppf files in your media directory.Check the readme files for what lines need to be added to the startup.ppf file. If that doesn't work either post on the forum or e-mail me and we'll get you back in the sky Good news is tomorrow you should be able to get your hands on the new Contest Pack with installer that will intall all the latest WWII Contest aircraft that aren't in 5.3b. Actually, I am crashing to desktop too, but it is happening with the stock missions where I am shooting at Me262's. Fly around for a few minutes, lining them up then POOF! - gone ...PP5.3 with 5.3b patch Meatwaters Patch (Somebody's) Gun sounds. and a new install. How could one go wrong with something so simple? Any thoughts please? Regards, MW IP: Logged |

Make sure in your fighter squadron\Media directory you have: data12.par data13.par startup.ppf If any of those three are missing then you probably unzipped the plane pack 5.3 wrong. If that doesn't fix your problem post back here and we'll help you more.also if you reinstall 5.3 you have to run the 5.3b patch again. IP: Logged |

Hello, Dogma:I have all three of those files in situ. Played on-line OK ... certainly no mismatches. Therefore presume 5.3 and 5.3b patch installed correctly. Currently have NO other planes, skins, anything installed. I have tried with Windows sorting its own virtual memory: currently with 520 MB to spare. Also with Windows set to 150MB fixed size. Problem seems the same there. Next thoughts please Regards, MW IP: Logged |

are you just finding this problem with the me262 trainig missions ? Or what missions is this happening in specifically. Maybe there is something we might have missed in testing.IP: Logged |

I've always had trouble with the JU88G7 crashing SDOE on me when I am playing online and switch to a close up external view of the plane or if I'm attacking it and get close. I think maybe it's a problem with the plane. Seems to work okay offline though. TS

There seems to be a bug in FS where the program will crash to desktop if a plane is low on fuel while under AI control. Sometimes this seems related to switching planes because by switching to another plane you are giving the AI control of the first plane. Check the quantities of fuel for all the planes in the missions that you are having trouble with.IP: Logged |

Well, it happened again this time with Ju88's in the distance, but I would imagine they were stock planes (5.3b'ed) as I am still using stock missions.I will check the fuel situation tho', because this always appears to happen into a really "good" (meaning I have stayed alive) fight. Will get back if further advice needed. S! MW
