I've got a TNT2 Ultra, and I notice I get a lot of "strobing" for lack of a better description in the prop animation with the Vsync disabled. Does everyone get this? Is there anyway to disable the prop animation? As well, with 256MB of RAM, how big can I set the Texture Cache Size and is it going to make any difference? Last question, Milo's last post referred to an unsupported OpenGL renderer. Where would one find this? IP: Logged |

the 1.5.1. Beta patch you can find in my Downloads section if you really want to use it.. .most everyone say it's fine, I say it's not, but it's there to try it if you want to.Apparently, there's no point in setting the texture cache above 40mb as thats the max it should take.. although saying that I just had to re install SDOE after trying foolishly once again to use the Glide drivers of the 1.5.1. beta patch, and my chches were one on about 266mb and another of almost 500mb.. hey, and I didn't set them that big believe me! Nat, I think the 40mb is how much texture is carried in ram at one time (?). The texture cache sizes you are referring to are what's on your hard drive. At any rate, they are two separate measurements.IP: Logged |

I tried the 1.5.1. patch and it screwed up my machine royaly. Must be the beta Nvida drivers. If I tried the OpenGL it would either lock up or CTD. IP: Logged |

Can anyone comment on the optimal Nvida settings for SDOE for the best balance between image quality and FPS? I seem to be getting a big performance hit it I enable Vsync to get rid of the that damn distracting strobing through the prop animation. Maybe it's just my set up.IP: Logged |

In the Handy Dandy Doc, is a description of how to get rid of the moving propeller altogether. It actually removes the animation of the propeller.Don't have the detail at all (I am writing this from work ) - how to do it, or where the Handy Dandy Doc is: but it is there. The propeller will still start and stop nicely, just NO strobing at all when flying. (I think they turn it into the nose of Bessie the cow or something.0 S! MW IP: Logged |
