What does the Invert mouse option actually do? If I want to fly with the mouse instead of the joystick how do I do this.

I can only answer the first bit:

1. One way of using Invert x/y mouse options is when you are using the mouse to VIEW the outside world.

If you invert the Y-mouse, then pulling the mouse toward you, makes you look DOWN ... usually it would make you look up. (Similarly, invert X-mouse ... but who would ever want to do that??)

I actually like using the mouse for looking around, BUT it "remembers" where it last was, so that after looking ahead, or padlocking on something, if you TOUCH the mouse again, you may be looking back over you Left shoulder again. It would be much better if it defaulted to straight ahead after you have "reset" the views by going Shift Number-Pad 5. That way you could either "remember" your last mouse view if you haven't touched Shift Number-Pad 5, or if you HAVE reset, then you are starting off looking straight ahead again.

2. I don't know if you can fly FSSDOE using the mouse alone ... haven't tried.

Salute!

Mark, if you have a three button or MS Intellimouse with scroll wheel you can program the 3rd button/wheel to be Shift-5 and center your view quickly. Works great.
