Game Locks up within a minute of starting a flight. My drivers are up to date, and am very frustrated.

System info:
Dell Model: Dimension XPS B___r
Processor: P3,CU,800/133,256K,SLOT1
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 256 AGP (Dell)
Audio: TBS Montego II PCI Audio

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

(it's always good to try a search through the board when looking for tech help)

You may have cooling problems with your GeForce board. That seems to be the culprit in most lockups after flying starts.

If you aren't using any custom planes, try opening your case and aiming a room fan (set on high) at the motherboard. If you don't get any lockups, your problem is likely heat related.

If you are using custom planes, let us know what you're using and we might be able to tell you what's wrong.

I found the solution to this issue on the Dell messageboard. There are known issues with the sound and/or the video card. In settings/multimedia I have reduced the acceleration rate of the card incrementally until the crash problem was resolved. There is no noticable degradation on performance.
