Why can't you fly? What happens?

Also note that you can not really move the fuse down, can you? It is the parent object. You should move all of the other parts "up", right? At least that is what I do...

Maybe your initial object placement points are now below the ground so you fall through th Earth.

SV's right,
if you move the fuse then all children move with it. You should try moving the child objects to meet the fuse.

Now for the CTD, who knows. Simply moving a part shouldnt corrupt a sm, unless it loses its properties. Also some times the whole sm building thing gets screwy sometimes. Like you get a sm that works in OPS but not the game or you get a sm that will build but then not extract.

In your SM that is crashing, check to see that the property list is correct. I have seen it get jumbled and cause a corrupt SM.

Lasty, try moving your parts to meet the fuse in OPS and save, then try it in the game. That might atleast get you started in the right direction.

Seb, I've seen this many times while I've been learning Max.. you have imported a new object as the fuse is my guess, only in Max itself, the fuse is way to low, consequently it appears low in OPS with now way to raise it. You need to go back into Max and reaise the fuse more, now that you've probably lost a reference to where it should be positioed you'll probably have to use guess work, but thats by honest suggestion.

Did you say you moved the fuselage in OPS and then REBUILD the .sm file??? DON'T!!!

When you move something in OPS, and then SAVE it in OPS, the .sm file is DONE, ready, finito, complete...like...finished, man

If you then rebuild the .sm using Builder, it simply recompiles all the .lods and .asc files into a NEW .sm file, which will OVERWRITE the file you just "fixed" in OPS.

When you edit an .sm file with OPS and then save it, you should EXTRACT that .sm file again to replace all the .lods with your NEW .lods.

Of course, if I misread what you are doing, well....never mind
