First off, a pat on the back to Jedi and Team Jug for providing the SDOE community with 2 fantastic aircraft. These are two of my all time favorite aircraft and I am glad to have them as part of this sim. Great job!!!Questions: On both of these a/c, the gunsight seems to be off-center when you do the zoom (F10) view. Is that a problem or were they designed that way on purpose? With the Corsair, I am unable to take-off from an aircraft carrier (Saratoga). The a/c just does circles around the tail wheel. With the P-47, the HVAR rockets sometimes don't explode on contact with the ground or the target, even though they are armed. Has anyone else experienced these problems? Any ideas or solutions? Thanks, G-Man IP: Logged |

I hadn't noticed the gunsight thing. Are you using Glide, by chance? On some cards, the whole PICTURE is off-center a bit. I believe you can re-center it by using the Control- and Control= keys. Sort of a bug. I'll look at the F10 thing tho.The CV thing is, well, beta FM I can take off from the CV, but only sometimes, and after lots of practice. A workaround is to use only about 50% power, and bring it up slowly. I've seen posts that the AI can fly the Hog off the deck, but I've never seen that myself. What I do is use the tailwheel for steering, use some flaps for takeoff, move the power slowly up to about 50%, hold the tail on the deck with up elevator, then be ready to react QUICK with the rudder when the tail comes up because the contest version's rudder is too sensitive. Once you get it pointed straight again, you can put in full power. The version of the Corsair I'm working on now has a lot of center of gravity refinement in it. Still a handful on takeoff, but I can take off within the runway limits every time now, and even ABORT takeoffs at high speed and keep it centered, which is a pretty big breakthrough for that plane. It requires a lot of attention tho, and I'm not sure I'll change it from the way it is in the new version. The Hog was NOT easy to takeoff or land, from everything I've read, so I'm real hesitant to make it easy, even tho it's just for fun We'll see how folks like the new FM and then I'll decide whether to tweak the ground handling some more. Won't be fun for anyone if it's not a believable experience for em. ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Can you tell me where I can see the contest winning P-47? I've read so much about it but I cannot seem to find it.IP: Logged |

>Can you tell me where I can see the contest winning P-47? http://www.fightersquadron.com/ubb/Forum13/HTML/000059.html Stay tuned, though... A new version will be released in about a week or two. The new version will feature a revised damage model, a major cockpit update, a revised flight model, and many fixes. The new damage model is especially cool from both a graphics and gameplay standpoint. I don't want to give it away, so let me just say that I think you all will dig it!
