Ok, I need someone to tell me the proper oder and the correct placement of these files. I have all the files and patches, including the contest planepack. When I install everything I get (2) media folders, and some of the planes cd't. And Nations will not show up correclty either. This is getting very frustrating Could someone please point mr in the rite direction. Thanks, Maaco [This message has been edited by Maaco (edited 04-20-2000).] IP: Logged |

Hmmm. I guess I'd start over. Install the basic game first. Then patch 1.5. Then Planepack 5.3. Then Patch 5.3a. Then Patch 5.3b. Then Nations 1.0. Then the Zero. Then the Contest Planes. Then the 1-16. This STILL might result in a few things not working right. Make sure you're using the full contest plane pack, not individual (suspect) beta plane downloads. Laika's I-16, Royohboy's Ju-188, and SV's newest SE-5A are the only "new" planes I've seen come out in the last week or so, and none of them are in either the contest pack or 5.3.If that still doesn't work, it's quite possible that you missed the newest version of one of the planes. Do a search on this board under I-16, Hurricane, and maybe P-47 to learn what to do to fix a possible missing line in the startup.ppf file due to the new airfoils with some of the planes (although I think the Jug worked in all versions). If you tell us which planes specifically are CTD, we can probably get ya up and running quickly. ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

2 media folders? Something's wrong in your directory structure. Problem probably comes from zips that should be unzipped from different folders. In general: in your "media" folder (let us suppose it is C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\media) there should be a certain number of .par files. They should not be elsewhere. Aircraft that do not come distributed in a .PAR pack should appear as a new subdirectory in C:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\media\aircraft There is no installation standard procedure and add-on makers assume people are familiar with SDOE's directory structure. As a general rule, look at the pathes before unzipping. If they begin with "media", unzip in your SDOE directory, if not, unzip in the media directory unless the readme says otherwise. Does it help or does it add to the confusion?
