How can you get the planes alphabatized in the Hangar and Training sections of SDOE? I dont have the plane pack currently installed since I dont play on-line. I just have each individual plane and missions and terrain and such. Thanks.IP: Logged |

Just a wild guess...try having Windows arrange the folders in your aircraft folder "by name."Seems to me that the last airplane folder I put into the "aircraft" folder now appears as the last plane on the list... ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Hmmm. Next guess, then. Reorganize the folders in the Training folder by name, and then reorganize the hangar missions in the Hangar folder by name. Bet you already tried that too tho... Maybe try moving all the airplane folders out of the Aircraft folder, and putting them back in one at a time, starting and exiting the game each time. Maybe the game builds some kind of list internally and just adds on to it as new planes are added. ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

The program takes them in whatever order Windows gives them. The "Arrange by..." View choices don't rearrange on the disk. They only change what is shown in Explorer. I'm sure there are programs that alphabetize on disk. I don't know any off the top of my head. There used to be several for DOS once upon a time. The quick and dirty way to do it is to move them all out of that folder into a temp folder. Use "dir /b /on" to create a TXT file that you edit to move them one by one back into the original folder. Kind of roundabout, but it works. The Desktop Contents PowerToy also displays unsorted, and I've used this technique with it. One advantage is that you can arrange them however you want, even if it's not strictly alphabetical. You might find the "foldersort" proggie usefull for doing that (no, not that! I mean that! ) http://www.magrathea.clara.net/ It's in the Essentials section. Cheers Poniat IP: Logged |
