Ok. When there is a Akagi carrier, Akizuki battleship, 6 Dauntlesses, 4 Wildcats, 5 Zeros, flak bursting in air and guns flaming; the sound gets really distorted. I have a Sound Blaster Live so I know its not my soundcard and my computer is fast as well. So whats the deal???????????????????IP: Logged |

Way too much in the mission is the problem-- I have a pretty good machine as well and the same thing happens to me. All those guns on the Akagi and Akizuki I believe really take their toll on the soundcard.------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

Jeeves got it in one, although I've found that altering the sounds will help alot, maybe taking the actual kb/s down, but then ofcourse you loose sound qualityIP: Logged |

Ok, then we need to slow down the AA guns on teh ships (make them fire less) and possibly not have noise for when they fire, but rather when the flak explodes in the air. This should I think help alot! Please, tell me what you think of this idea.IP: Logged |

That kinda makes sense-- in the plane over the noise of the wind and the engine, you would not hear the big guns firing...actually-- I read somewhere you probably wouldn't even hear a flak burst in a plane. But if you are the one manning the guns-- it would be weird not to hear a boom of the gun firing-- is there a way to hear it on the ship, but not in the plane?------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless!

I think that the sounds of the guns actually fades, especially after attacking the Yamato with so many guns, it seems that the further away you are the quieter the sounds.. I think everyone must know this, but it also implies that there might be a way of setting the "sound fade" in some way, so that it isn't heard until very close. So far I've not found out how to define my own gun sounds for the Yamato, it seems that with a/c this is done usualy in the loadout.ppf, but ships don't have these, so I'm hoping that someone knows how I can do this, then I will creat new sounds for the different gun types, but with very low kb/s so that the sound in general souldn't be so badly distorted when the ship fires broad sides, or even worse.. fires on a target comming head on, when every single gun comes to bear!
