Just wondering. When I create missions, that's one of the variables, and I never really know how much fuel to put in each of the different a/c. Is this information available for each plane so I know if I'm filling or not filling or overfilling a tank? I know the planes are designed to fly differently depending on how much fuel they're carrying.

In the game manual (it is useful for something!)- there are fuel capacities for the game's planes. As far as the user-built planes, I know the 109's have the capacities in the read-me, but for the others, the builders would probably know better than I would.

If you have OPS, you can open the plane's .sm file and look for an "obFuel" property in the fuselage or wings. This will give you the tank capacity in gallons included in that piece. Some planes like the WWI jobs and the I-16 have actual tanks modeled, so you'd need to look for that object.

The Corsair's fuel is in the main fuselage .lod, until I understand how to build the tank and the damage model better. 237 gallons, IIRC.

A good rule of thumb is about 150 gallons max for an early WW2 plane, 200 for a later one, and 7 pounds per gallon of fuel. That should keep you out of trouble building missions.
