Just use Notepad. It's basically a text file. The first few lines define where the graphics files for an aircraft go.To put a plane "in the game," say the
B-25, all you need is a folder in the media/aircraft directory called "B25" with a b25.sm file and a loadout.ppf file. The ppf file will have the "name" of the airplane, say "B-25 Mitchell," in the file. That will cause B-25 Mitchell to appear in the list of planes. If you want it to have a test "hangar" mission, you need to build a mission for it, give it the same name as the .sm file, and put it into the hangar folder. If you want to have a little picture and description, those files must be built and put in their proper folders. If you want training missions, you'd need a folder with the same name as the .sm file to be put into the Training/United States folder containing the mission files.
Not too difficult, all together, and the .ppf file sorta shows you how to do it. Start with a .ppf file copied from one of the other planes, and just change the lines carefully.
