could it be that with the new pp5.3
the "old" skins won't work anymore????
I've downloaded the italian skin for
the fw190a (diego great work!!) but it's

There are several FW190's now. I assume the dimensions on each are different so a skin for one probably wouldn't work for the others. Just guessing.IP: Logged |

gterl...how exactly wont they work? I mean does the skin come out all black? Or is the skin a jumbled mess? If your skins are black try deleting your texture cache in your Media file. IP: Logged |

ok can't post a picture at the moment
(I'm in the office heheh)the plane is the FW190A (...media\aircraft\fw190a\textures\fw190aXX.tif...can't remember the correct name) the skin is the italian one (like a macchi rattlesnake from d. lonzano) the thing is, that the wings don't show correct, I mean the upper and lower side of the skin(wing) are messed up.
(the lower side is also showed on the upper side of the wing) don't know if this is enough

That sounds like the messed up mapping on the Fw190 that shipped with the game. Are you sure you have the data12.par and data13.par files in your media folder.------------------

these two files belong anyway to the pp5.3 ;-)..please try yourself ! the skin is that one from diego for the italian macchi (from the warpaintfactory) ok otherwise I will post a pic uaaahhhhh this problem maks me nutz thanks

Did Diego use the old 190 or the new 190 to make his skin for? That's another piece of the puzzle...If he made a skin for the old 190, and the 5.3 guys remapped their new skins onto the new 190s, and you try to put that "old template" skin onto the new aircraft, it won't look right. The parts of each aircraft are mapped to specific points on the .tif file. If you try using a tif that isn't based on the original tif for those plane parts, it won't match up. If you are using a 5.3 plane, the Macchi.tif must have the wings, tail, etc in the same relative positions as the 190.tif from 5.3--which you'd have to unbig a 5.3 parfile to check. ------------------

That skin you posted isnt mine. Thats from the WarPaint Factory and sorry to say I dont know off hand who's it is. The skins I made were based on the Fw190A...the "old" one. The only changes I saw with the PP 5.3 version were that the tail and front leading edge was fixed and the fuselage was no longer mirrored. What you describe and the picture you've posted I have not run into as I've only flown the "stock' 190A3 skin that came with PP5.3.
