Help! I've just brought Fighter Squadron and can't even control the plane properly.I can't get my gamepad (sidewinder Dual-Strike) to work, My moue doesn't control anything , and when I use the keyboard the only way I can move the rudders or trim is to repeatedly press the appropriate key. Pressing it and holding only moves it a fraction and then it stops. How do I change this so that I can play. Thanks in advance, Adam

Hi, I started out playing flight sims with a gamepad too, but I soon found it's more intuitive to use a good joystick. I use the "MS Precision Pro" now, and it has a twist funtion that allows you to control rudder. If you use the gamepad or a stick without rudder, I think you have to hit the "/" key to center the rudder. You may have to edit your keyboard .inp file to use rudder on keyboard too, because mine just trims the rudder a click at the time. However, I feel you'd enjoy the game more with a good joystick.

I think if you totally remove all game controllers from your computer then the mouse takes over for flight control but you should really buy a decent joystick and throttle if you want to fly well.

Omen, this is a very realistic flight sim, and I, like the others, really do suggest you get a joystick, doesn't have to be brilliant, but I'm sure you will find that alot easier than the pad.. also even with a good sick, you will find that you will need the keyboard, if you haven't got rudder peddals (I haven't) you'll soon get used to using the (,) left rudder 1 notch (.) right rudder 1 notch (/) centre rudder. You will also need to use the rim, and yes, you bust hit the button to move it 1 notch also, each click moves it another notch.

Have fun, and welcome to our community, I'm sure you'll love it like the rest of us
