Topic: Re-arming the plane.

Hi,
I often fly with a friend on my LAN at home to take some experience before going online with you guys.
I often run out of ammo with a couple of plane. Is there a way to re-arm without "suicide" myself? Since I'm a better pilot than my friend, I can shoot him down 5-10 times before I run out of ammo and he gets better score than me because I have to land and eject to get a new full armed plane.
Any advise??

Geez...isn't 5 to 10 times enough?!!!  He won't be your friend for long if you keep that up LOL...I don't think there is a way right now to do this. I amm not even sure it's possible to do at this point.IP: Logged |

When he is tired of going down at each minute, we change missions and I have to shake the boggie off my tail before heading to save him. It looks like I'm a dawn good wingman, until I have to land and eject to rearm because he still have 3 boggies on his tail and that I'm out of ammo...
You really guys have to find a way to rearm and fuel when the sim goes open source. I'm tired of saving the life of my friend and still gets a worse score...

You can turn unlimited ammo on and off in the options if you are the host.

Yes, but it removes the realism of the game...
I think I'll have to live with that until the genius you are implement something to rearm!

....unlimited ammo "removes the realism of the game". And 5 to 10 kills per sortie is realistic?hmmmmmm...no wonder we will never have a consensus of what is realistic. IP: Logged |

It is not my fault if the AI, even at full skills, is not able to shot me down while I'm saving the life of my friend (actually, he is one of my glider pilot student, since I'm the cheaf-flight-instructor of a glider club).
When I fly solo mission, I can easily take 3-5 ennemy planes. Maybe it is not realistic, but it is how the game is implemented! I'm not going to shoot 2 planes down and run home after because it is not "realistic" to shoot more!
And even though 5-10 planes a flight is not realistic, I think that the step between the real life and shooting 5-10 planes a flight is by far less high than having unlimited ammo.
Don't you agree??
Let's hope the feature of refueling and rearming will be implemented in the best sim I've flown so far (when I can compare with my real pilot experience).IP: Logged |

Sorry Jantar, I guess I'm confused. In your first post you said you were shooting down your friend, not the AI, 5-10 times on one load of ammo. This is what I was referring to as unrealistic. I was going to suggest another "less cooperative" friend or perhaps a plane mismatch to test your flying skills...like a Spit Mk1 vs a FW 190.If you are also shooting down 3-5 fighters with AI cranked all the way up and with only a single load of ammo then you're a hell of alot better pilot than I am. Other than flying online against some of our best I don't know what would give you a realistic challenge. When outnumbered 2-3 to 1 the AI keeps me plenty challenged, and I use unlimited ammo.
