It seems like the struts in the JU-88 and the P-51 variants have legs amde of cheese. The spit and lanc and others have legs made from rocks. Why is this is it accurate? I mean I can throw the spit on the mud without worry but the P-51 is a real bitch to get dwon without bending the struts. The JU-88 is even worse. What is wrong if anything? SnakeIP: Logged |

After hours of pratice I think I can land the 51 alright now, but I still spin around later down the runway. It seems you have to be moving fast and flare very low to land it---faster and lower than other sims. I haven't bent my gear in a the last few landings, but next time...hehe. Sure I sweat now when landing the 51, but I stopped shaking. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for all of them I broke on take off and landing. IP: Logged |

One thing to try for directional control: when you touch down, lower the tail wheel immediately, and add full BACK stick. Now the tail wheel is working again, so use your rudder to steer with.If you used the flaps to land, raise em. That will put more of the weight on the wheels, and make the brakes work better. You need to be landing at around 100 mph for these to work well tho. Another thing to try is landing in external view. You can see the ground coming up a lot better, and also detect swerving quicker. ------------------ --jedi-- IP: Logged |

Also remember that the spit was designed to take off and land where ever there was room for it to stop. The 51 was designed to land on improved strips. Gear was designed around these principals and we may be a bit exaggerated, they are closer than most in that there is a difference.. ;} Mirthain=FC=IP: Logged |
