Hi guys! I absolutely need a course on how to succeed a bombing mission with an heavy bomber (e.g. B17) and on light bombing (e.g. destroy V1 site with a P38 loaded of light bombs). For the B17, how can we make the plane fly alone and be aligned on the objective while we bomb? How do the bomb sight works (I dromp my bombs when the sight is align on the target, but I always miss it!). I need all the details. For light bombing, is there a better way than doing a dive align on the target, release the load and pull out ASAP to avoid the shock wave? I really need help guys... Thx! IP: Logged |

I don't think there's an easy way to tell you Jan, with bombers as with any other aircraft it came to me through constant practice, now with a bombed up fighter, the F4U1 for instance, I rarely miss a target, but yes, it's advisable to bank hard over and get out of the blast area asap, I'd suggest that for using a bombed up fighter, be at about 1500/2000ft, with the target sumthing like 1 mile infront of you, maybe just a little less.Bombers are a whole new ball game though, it really will be getting used to it more than aything, as it all depends so much on altitude and speed, my adive is to use HUD's when your at the bombers reticule, becuase you have to do the flying aswell as the bombing, and it'll help you to keep the plane level, although it still takes alot of practice even with HUDs. Whats can I say, you'll only really get there with practice. IP: Logged |
