Are there instructions or can someone tell me how to use the mission editor? Not to edit an existing mission, but to create a new one? I can do some of the basic things, but i.e. Get A/C to attack a ground target, get A/C to engage other A/C etc. Thanks.Hey Neal, catch up with you one of these days. IP: Logged |

there are some basic instructions in the manual that will help, like explaining about waypoints etc and what CAP or Sweep etc will do. Mainly, remember to save them into the correct mission area folder when you're done. To be honest I don't know what else to tell you.. lolIP: Logged |

Heya QTip-The way I learned was to take one of the missions from the Multiplayer folder (any will do) and look at how they are set up. The filter is great for looking at one certain thing- like if you want to see how the plane waypoints are set up without ground objects and towns0 click on those buttons to isolate the planes and see how they are set up. Then, just unclick the buttons and they are back to their original spot. For bomber missions- you have to make sure you give the bombers enough time to acquire targets- if you set them to bomb right at the target- they won't cause they haven't spotted it and aligned them selves on the bomb run...if you put it out 3-5 miles, it gives them time to find the target and line up for the kill. If you need any more help- e-mail me as this seems to be my forte...I sure the hell can't model For ground targets- sweep doesn't seem to work well- or at least the planes don't fire rockets at targets- bombing is the only way to take out a target under AI...but if you are making them for online play- then I'm sure the pilots will make good use of them Also- there are times when planes are on CAP and they will leave a dogfight to go on a strafing run on tanks or guns...the only way to fix it seems to be to make sure their CAP area doesn't overlap a ground unit. Qtip- You've just heard from the SDOE mission master! Seriously alot of guys are into plane building or other SDOE stuff. But Jeeves does a great job of keeping us in missions! Thanks Jeeves. Ronin IP: Logged |

Funny, on Sweep, the AI doesn't use rockets, but on Bomb, the ai follows the SOP for doing so - climbs to 1200ft, and dives at the target, launching with some success - AI is a mixed bag. If you have bombs and rockets, rockets suddenly become a dropped ordinance, so equipping an aircraft with both is a waste of time - offline that is.IP: Logged |

I've got 7 190's doing a sweep on Beja and they do fire rockets. They are flying with 4 Ju-88's that are on a bombing run. The base is set as a target and there are 4 B-29's set as targets. Now I've got the 190's doing 3 sweeps over the target area, and only a couple of 190's at a time fire rockets. I've got another one where 4 Typhoons are taking out German tanks, rockets work there too. I do all of my flying offline on Michaels beta maybe that makes a difference.IP: Logged |

By golly they do. I was running with beta5 and the beu's would straff then set up for a 'torpedo' run.IP: Logged |
