First things first, To all that work on the sim a huge thanks. I have now become an addict according to my wife , WHAT I'm married.I am finding that my Joystick is extremly sensetive. I have used the config settings and set at min and it's still touchy. Any thoughts. Should I be using the new build? has it been officialy set as the on-line standard? Thanks again you are all wizards. IP: Logged |

Welcome, Bulldog. Get a program called CFTJ 3.0 from www.stickworks.com With it, you can adjust the joystick sensitivity, dead zone, and so on. You should download PlanePack 5.3, the 5.3a patch, and the Lancaster turret fix. PP5.3 is the official online standard. semmernIP: Logged |

also, try making the Dead Zone bigger, you might just be finiding that the way it's currently set your stick is transmitting every tiny movemnt to the game, if you set it higher it'll give the stick a lil play in it to start withIP: Logged |

Thanks a ton guys. I have the 1.5 orig patch not build 65 also have 5.3a but when I tried to instll the 1.5 build 65 it just did'nt want to work, does any body have instillation info. I see 2 setup files in the 65 build Zip. Also I can't find the orig 5.3 patch as I seem to be missing some planes (109,190), even when I have installed 5.3a. does 5.3a have everything 5.3 had? I'll keep at it today.IP: Logged |

Bulldog, did you delete Data 14 and 15.par? I have 5.3 and the patch linked at my site if you need them. If you have both installed you need to delete those par files I've listed. There are new planes added to 5.3 that weren't in 5.2, there are still some bugs, but one day there might be a 2nd patch, if not it might be a good idea for us to atleast get the patch a couple of us have for the 262 posted------------------ JV~44 "Naturlich" If you can't beat em.... out run em! http://members.xoom.com/naturlich/

I can post you the patch, but it's not "online standard" meaning, if you have it in there and try to use it online you'll get mismatches. I'll dig it out now and post it to you.IP: Logged |

RE: "Make your dead-zone bigger"Actually ... If you do this you also make your translational input smaller ... So in essence you make your stick "more" touchy. Laymans explanation .... Let's say normally your stick has 4 inches of throw to any axis ... This equates to 4 inches of input. You give your stick a 1/2 inch deadzone ... and your stick now has 3 1/2 inches to translate the same amount of input that is did in 4 inches. SO what it does is squeeze the same input into a 3 1/2 inch range, which translates into a more sensative stick! All in all it's better to reduce the axis sensitivity than it is to increase the deadzone. I hope that rambling made sense?

If all else fails just put a condom on it. Durex will take care of sensitivity problems once and for all.IP: Logged |

Zur, agreed, in essence... but if you are barely touching your stick, do you really want the aircraft to be jumping around because of the tiniest movement of your hand, setting the deadzone for your stick or style of flying adds for much much better controlIP: Logged |

...Nat,Agreed, However to many users use the deadzone as a "fix-all" .. Thinking it will "help" their input sensitivity, when it actually makes it worse! I actually have a very small deadzone ... just enough to allow fot joystick center-drift. But I also have my axis sensitvity set so my control input is 1:1 with the sims control surfaces ... Same here Zur, but I think it's worth a try if that was his main problem.. I gotta say though that the worst time I had with a joystick was when I bought the Wingman Interceptor.. damnit was scarey, took me 2 weeks to learn to fly again, my old cheap stick was so easy to control, but the Wingman... haell, talk about touchy!IP: Logged |
