with 5.3, I noticed a lot of the planes that were user add-ons, may now be part of the actual data.par files. Can I eliminate some of the separate aircraft folders from my media folder if the plane is actually residing in the new 5.3 par files (no extra skins involved)? Does the question make sense to someone out there? Thanks.

Yes, you definately want to eliminate those folders. The program first looks for stand-alone files. Then it looks in the .par files. So if you have a given plane both as stand-alone files and in the plane pack, the stand-alone files will take precedence. In single-player you'll be flying the old models and online you'll get mismatches and not be allowed to join a game.

Related question:

In the Training Missions and Hanger there are two user built Zero's. The new one with the moving canopy and the original one which is just a FW190 with a Zero skin. The FW190/Zero is not a folder. How do I get rid of it? If it's in the par file why don't we drop it now that we have a "real" Zero.

I guess I need to know exactly which planes are part of the .par files so I only remove the ones that are now being duplicated by my having a separate folder in the Media/Aircraft folders. Can someone tell me what aircraft are now part of the .par files?
