A few more newbie questions.
I loaded the sim, patched it to 1.5, added the Plane pak 5.3 and meatwaters sounds. All seems to work ok except how can I ever expect to fly the 'Stang if every takeoff personally threatens the tower crew? I am ALL over the airfield! Am I missing a file that makes the P51 a bit smoother?

I can safely takeoff and land the 109 and the 190. As well as the Zero, the P51 is killing me.

Also, is there a way to be able to pan in the external view and the inside cockpit views? Right now I can get one or the other but not both....

I do have the "Doc" to refer to and I will be reading it cover to cover, but so far my biggest problem is the Mustang.

Otherwise, This is an AMAZING sim!

Thanks...

Heya,

Some people feel the 51 is hard to take off with or is hard to fly, but its the way its supposed to be. The take offs have been made easier in the upcoming plane pack. Less rudder I guess. The overall flight characteristics of the 51 have not been changed. In general, go real easy on the n stick.

Try not 'juicing' the engine on takeoff, for now. Torque is a biatch on the P-51, Dora, 109, and 190. I usually end up sliding a wing along the ground on most of the above when I simply set the throttle at 100% from the line, a gradual increase (different for each one) usually aids greatly in getting the birds in the air.

Hi all,

I managed to take off AND land TWICE last night prior to hitting the rack....Twice was enough for me....I think I discovered 2 things. 1) Keep the rudder inputs soft and slow...
2) I tried using a lower power setting but that didn't work very well. I ended up flying down the runway on one wing and one wheel...I get the tail up and then SMOOTHLY go to full throttle. This seems to givve me enough speed to actually lift off...
