Can someone tell me what it should look like inside my "Fighter Squadron" folder. I seem to have folders that aren't used (i.e. 2 training folders, one under FS and one in the Media folder(only one being used)). I'm especially having problems with things I download (add-ons). When I downloaded the Zero, it didn't put all the things in the right place, i.e. I can't fly it from the hangar. I just installed FM 5.3 and it actually installed it into a new FS folder that it created. I had to move the files manually to the FS folder the game is actually in. Thanks for any help.

Ok...you should have a main folder ( contains the .exe file, etc. ); under that, 2 sub-folders: Anet and Media. Media consists of several subfolders, as well as the par files and cache files under the Media dir itself.

Some of these subfolders may be empty at a first install...they will fill as you play either on or offline. One folder that is usually missing at first, under Media, is the Aircraft folder. This is for add on planes and / or sounds/textures to modify existing planes. Sometimes when adding planes/objects/etc., you may have to create new folders.

I have found that the safest way for me...and the easiest to follow...is to unzip all mods to a temp directory ( I have created 2 just for this purpose ) and view how the directory structure unzips. I have noticed that WinZip ( if you use that ) sometimes gets confused..hehe...and does things like create a media folder under Media, or a second media folder under Fighter Squadron.

After checking the unzipped direcory structure, I usually just copy and paste the files as they are structured into the correct directories in the game.

Also, Ground Crew can help with some of this...I believe there is mention of it in downloads section. You might give it a try...I think he is working on version 3, which you may wish to wait for.

I hope this helps.. Sorry for it being so long...

Oh...and it is possible to have 2 or more folders of same name, like hangar - but not on same level. Like, you can have a Hangar folder under Media, and hangar under GUI ( I think ). If I have steered ya wrong, someone here will catch it.
