I just applied 1.5, but now it appears I have no mouse control. The game is otherwise fine, I can fly with the trim for instance, and the UI works fine with the mouse outside of flying.

The readme for the patch doesn't mention anything about this issue, and I don't see any new options that apply in the setup area. Any ideas?

I can't honestly say what the problem is myself, but you can still play the game without the patch, use the origonal exe file to run the game, just thought this would help you out till one of the "brain boxes" replies

If you installed the 1.5 Final Activision Patch you canīt choose wich exe file to run(cause you got only one) - If you installed the 1.5.1 Beta Patch you can choose between two exe files: app.exe (for the 1.5.1 patched version) and Sdemons.exe (for the original version (maybe patched to 1.5)).

Sorry but for the mouse thing I cant help you - sure someone else can !

Maury, go into the keyboard folder. In the View section look for the mouseX and mouse Y lines. If there are semicolons in front of the lines then remove them. This should give you mouse pan views.

Sorry Maurey, I removed mouse support when I was updating the input file for the patch.

It's easy to put back though...

Open the keyboard.inp file which you'll find the FS folder. Just double-click on it and you'll be asked what you want to use to open it. Tell Windows to use Notepad and you'll be all set.

Once it's open, search for the lines which contain "inpStickXAnalog" and "inpStickYAnalog"

For the first line, go to the end of the line and add " | MouseAxisX" and for the second line add " | MouseAxisY" (just copy and paste what I have in quotes, without copying the quotes.

To fire the primary weapon with the mouse, find the line which contains "inpFireMainWeapon" and make sure that " | MouseButton0" is present at the end of the line.

That should get you all set up.

Ahhh, that keyboard mapping file is rather useful. Thanks!

Oh, while here, a suggestion. One thing I always "hate" on sims is that you often want to be able to use modifiers on groups of keys. That is, lets's say I want trigger to be guns, and shift-trigger to cannons.

Ok, it looks like I can do that with SDoE. However what I can't seem to do is "group" these into sets. For instance I'd like to be able to hold down shift and that changes a bunch of inputs. Or perhaps flick a button on the joystick and switch into a different mode.

Something to mull over I suppose.

Maury, Welcome to SDOE. What type of joystick do you use? Does it have a profiler program? I do most of the button editing using the profiler. Also you should check out the great Keyboard Guide produced by Ronin. It is in the download section.

Here is a link to it.
