The short answer is, "Yes."Are you going to get an ISDN "modem" or a router?
I used and ISDN modem until last year. As far was Windows is concerned it's just a fast modem. No special work necessary to get anything to work.
If you're getting a router then you'll be going in through the network adapter in your computer. Either directly or via a hub. If directly, everything will fall into place easily.
If you have more than one computer networked together in your house then you may want to install a firewall or something similar so that you can share one IP address among all the computers.
I currently have a cable "modem" at home and have set up an old 486/33 with Linux running IP Masquerading. Almost everything, including SDOE, works through there without any changes. The only things I've found that don't work are DPlay games and ICQ file transfers and ICQ chat.
There are other firewall and proxy setups that can be used to share an IP address. Some are easier to set up and others get in the way less. I chose Linux because it could do the job on the 486 I had available. I guess I've had it about six months now and it has been pretty much painless.
