Sorry to be a nuisance but two more questions about Spyder's great Chameleon. Supposing I download some desert skins, but no others. After I apply them, if I later want to fly Dover missions, say, how do I get back to the standard European theatre camouflage? I would attempt it by trial and error, but I fear the error.
Many thanks both for Spyder's work and the help.

Hiya Mr B
You can either: Remove the skins placed into \media\aircraft\planetype\textures or leave one theatre folder free containing the european painted skins so you can copy them over the desert schemes when you wish. (I suggest the latter for speed)

Thanks, Spyder, for your quick reply. Sorry to bother you again. The trouble is I can't find the texture folders and tif files. Am I missing something? I have the big installation but when I search for them, I just get 'invalid file name'.

Yours in ignorance

No probs, the theatre folders are added to your fighter squadron directory. They show as Africa Dover Germany etc.
Grab the tif files off the net from any one of the sites for Sdoe, there's quite a few out there now.
Place a skin (tif) for each plane type into one or all of those theatres.
Now the textures folders where Chameleon copies to in Sdoe may or may not exist so far in your \fighter squadron\media\aircraft\ folder.
If you look in the \media\aircraft\ folder and don't see something like B17g or Lanc in there that's ok, onto the next step.
You don't need to create these folders as chameleon will do that for you when it starts to copy the tif files, if a folder doesn't exist it will say "fighter squadron\media\aircraft\b17g\textures\ doesn't exist, do you want to create the directory?" or something to that effect.

You don't need to worry what's in media\aircraft, just place the tifs you have in the 'fighter squadron\africa' folder and so on for which ever theatres you want to use.
Hope that gets you going, if not feel free to email me for a step by step.
Cheers

Just one more thing, you *must* install Sdoe Chameleon to *your* fighter squadron installation directory, the one shown when you run the setup is the default only and may not necessarily be the same as yours.
When you run chameleon the first time, it creates the theatre folder names at that point not on installation.

Many thanks, Spyder. I finally cracked it. It's great to use desert skins in the desert, especialy as its snowing here. Have a good Christmas and thanks again.
