I was wondering if someone could help me. I seem to remember a while back i downloaded a 109G6 by Pete Hawk and it had asymmetric gear retraction.

I thought this was a rather neat touch and just wondered what is needed to acheive it.
Can it be done by just altering the SM via Open Plane or is it more complex than that?

Cheers

You can just edit the sm file for the plane in OpenPlane studio.

Find the gear part, then click on the DOF tab. Now you will see some things like:

oscDelayBgn: the number after this is how many seconds the DOF will wait before starting its movement

oscRunTime: This is how long the DOF takes to complete its movement in seconds.

Each gear will have a bunch of DOFS, just fool with the run-time and delay to get the desired effect.

Many thanks Sv. As you can see from the screenshot below I got it to work. I have already changed the Lanc's gear retract time to something a bit more realistic.

Been playing around with open plane for a while now and love it. Just gotta digest all the documentation and get more proficient at it!

Thanks again Sv for your help and your superb web tutorials.

Cheers
