Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Just wondering if anyone has purchased that new 3Com Gaming Modem yet-and I was wondering how it was working out. I saw it at a CompUSA the other day for about $110 and it just made me wonder. I get such slow connections out here in the boonies and could use any kind of boost I can get. I'm probably one of those that the guys in the lobby hate to see coming-not because of fear, though that's for sure-but mainly high ping ,warp, and lag.

Anyone got one of these yet?

yeah i'm real interested in this sucker
i have been waiting for reviews but have never seen any

i don't think u can get them here yet but if i was u and had the money i would just buy it somewhere with a good return policy and try it out
with some good knowledge about the ping command u should be able to tell if your getting lower pings

i hope so cause i could use a lower ping

internet gaming is supposed to be the big thing
and not everyone can get highspeed stuff

Oh well bomber-looks like somebody needs to buy this thing and give us a review. Hey Sp@anky-why don't you go buy this thing and give it a whirl?
Hehe- I'm just too cheap and a little skeptical as to whether or not it would make any difference especially with my slow connection speeds.

I actually got a 48K connect the other night- threatened my family (with death) not to disconnect till I got home from church-then proceeded to have my computer lock up while waiting for someone to show up in the lobby later on. I wanted to see if there'd be any improvement. Oh well, signed back on that night-and could only get a 26.4K connect as usual. Sigh.

ArthurQ hehe i would love to but i am severly broke at the moment and it is probly closer to 175 up here if we even have any yet

i am going to really look into it if the whole satelite modem thing doesn't go through here

BTW i live in a city of 50000 people about 1 kilometer away from my isp and the huge telephone center in this town and the highest i can get with my usr modem is 45000
i used to get 48000 with a win modem but this is more stable and has a lower ping

26 would really bite though sucks big time
