This is a Remington-produced Springfield 1903 A2... it's a nice transitional piece. It was made right when the A3 started to be made, and thus the stock is of an A3, but the barrel and reciever are of an A2.... dated 10-42. Its a great piece, and I am sorry to say it was in a box for over 50 years. I was the one that dug it out, researched, cleaned the cosmoline off of it, fixed it up, and prodded my father to take me to the range.... the mother unit was nervous, I kept telling her that early versions blew up.... Anywho, I have another 1903 that is a complete A2, except the stock was lobbed in half... and a Remington Produced M1917 U.S. Enfield, this one is in the process of me restoring it. It's a great hobby.... and the last shot is my target at 50 yards, and I can see why it's called the most accurate military rifle ever made. Great rifle.Short 15 second video, no sound ------------------

If you take your left hand away from the forestock and sit the rifle on the rest alone, you'll get better stability. You sort of wrap yourself around the butt putting your left hand up under the butt by your shoulder. Also what's the serial number? I'm guessing it's much higher than 800,00 so your ma can relax. She won't but she can. This never goes away either. You'll always be her little boy. Even when you have little boys of your own. Go to www.gunandknife.com's '03 forum for lots of good info on them and likely a ballpark value. You'll have to provide the S/N and ALL the markings on it. It's worth more than you may think.IP: Logged | |
