With processors doubling in MHz every 18 months, and with FSBs stuck < < 1/4 processor speed, and with Cache stuck < < below 1/64th RAM capacity, the return on investment has seemed increasingly low on new processor hardware (?).
Availability of SMT + 400 MHz would loosen some money from my increasing tight wallet.
Now, if some company had the balls to offer cheap MB/s - GB/s internet to the home, the entire computing experience could move forward (and generate some sales).
