I guess most have seen the conditions of the every day civilian in Afganistan, and those trying to get out of the way of the trouble to come.. is this realy the enemy? Not for me, not for any of us I'm sure, and while I was happy for the US and the rest of us to take our time in how we choose to deal with the Taliban, the more I see the sad state of the Afganis the more I eraly hope we attack sooner rather than later. The sooner we remove the taliban and set to helping those people that are struggling just to live the better, and we can only help once we've removed the Taliban. We MUST sort this out soon, just look at the people there, we have everything, they have nothing, not even food or water, thats down to how the Taliban have delt with the situation in maney ways, but regardless of blame, we can't help while tings are like they are now. Even from a political view this is the best chance we've had to come out "the good guys" even in the eyes of the Muslims, we go in, trash the Taliban, Bin Liner and all the others, then rebuild the countrys political system and feed and care for them. They are Muslims, it'll show the Muslim world once and for all that we're not against them, look how we now feed, cloth and house them, we just want the bad guys. We better start sorting this out very soon, the longer the waiting goes on, the more I'll blame our leaders for the condition of Afgani civilians as we sit back and let this all happen. ~Nat~ IP: Logged |

Nat, it's the "rebuilding the political system" that gets us in trouble with the rest of the world. This is the "nations building" that Bush is so leary of. We tend to play God and build "in our own image" which causes a lot of resentment is many quarters. Like raising a child, when do you control and when do you let them learn the hard way? When do you tell them what to do and when do you let them make their own mistakes? It's a lot easier said than done.IP: Logged |

this is true Jerry, but from what I believe the King of Afganistan will be returned as head in an agreement between him and the Northern Allience, IMO thats all that we realy need to know on that side, that there will be a ruing power put inplace and not a civil war of tribes to decide who it should be, so where I wouldn't like to see the west decide who should have the power, I think letting things take their course with the King is the best solutionIP: Logged |

Things already took their course with him. That's why he is no longer king. IP: Logged | |
