When NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered
that ballpoint pens would not work in 0 gravity.

To combat this problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 billion
developing a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on
almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from
below freezing to over 300C.

...The Russians used a pencil.

The entire Mercury and Gemini programs didn't cost $12 billion, let alone one pen. Maybe the topic title should be "Post ur useless and inaccurate facts here..."

No sources on this but I thought they bought a bunch of pens the RAF had developed for high-altitude use.

So we have been led to belive

LOL

Just kidding.

Yes you have, but was it done efficiantly?

Who knows!

People, countries and the world at large have done alot of things, but that doesn't mean there wasn't lots of wasted money or effort, in any accomplishment.
