G-man Pilot	posted 09-13- 10:26 PM A US Navy Cruiser (USS Vincenes)shot down an Iranian airliner in 1988. This was sometime after Iraq, who the US was friends with at the time, had put a missle (I think an Exocet) into one of our ships. The crew of the Vincenes was a little jumpy and mistook the Iran Air flight for an attacking aircraft. G-man IP: Logged
