Just wondering cause the news is mostly covering stuff in the states. Are planes in Canada flying again? I ordered a motherboard and its flying by air from Vancouver to Toronto. So is it stuck in Vancouver? Please note this is not to ment to take lightly all the deaths that took place. I'm not pissed cause my motherboard might be late and losing site of the larger issue. I'm just wondering if anyone knew if they were flying again. I wrote UPS an email, but I'm guessing they have all kinds of problems much larger then just my one small package right now. --------------------- One more thought The deaths are horrible but I can't help but think of all the other stuff. Think of all the people that were employed in that building, if they have no job, how are they going to pay their rent next month? Man that has gotta suck, they probly lost friends and are going to possibly be on the street. Even if most of the business people have temp offices set up what about the building janitors and such, they are screwed, if they aren't dead. Its pretty crazy when you think about it. And how many businesses are loosing TONS of money because all these flights are grounded. I wonder if new flight rules are also going to change rules for air parcel carriers. I wonder how hard it is to get in as a pilot on one of those? IP: Logged |

Last I heard ALL of UPS' aircraft are grounded. We're waiting for equipment from the States at work. The supplier said it was being put on a truck. Still won't be much faster with 24 hour waits at the border. Mind you, that was going into the States. And I can't say as I blame the US Customs people.IP: Logged |

My package orinates in Canada so it doesn't need to cross any borders. Do you know if they are still grounded in Canada? I'm getting kinda mad that they havn't replied to my email, 2 days later. Or at least in the tracking info they could say it was stalled until air traffic was moving again.

What I heard is that they aren't letting anyone unload the cargo. that it stays on till the flight leaves...... but I also heard that Santa is real too... so.....That was so odd. I was so creepy at work the past few days without the roar of jets taking off. Our helicotpers wern't even allowed to take of to do hover checks. So they sat parked. Our paintshop backs out onto one of the taxiways at the airport, and we couldn't even haul up a chopper cause they wouldn't let anyone out onto the ramp! I can totally understand it though. I drove by the terminal that day, and I have NEVER seen so many jets there. all tip to tail in any open space.... just unreal. IP: Logged |

AC was running 50% of flights today, will be at 90% by Sunday if that's any indication.WM ------------------ Abbeville Field: Dedicated to the SDOE Experience. IP: Logged |

I just wish UPS would put up a notice on their page about stuff, and let people know when stuff is moving again, that would be cool. I'm not sure if mine would be faster by truck, boy I could see that taking a while.
I guess if it was an express truck from vancouver to toronto, but I could see it stoping at every major city and getting bogged and sorted for the next truck. Yeah I guess that would be crazy working at the airport and not hearing all the normal action. Wacky stuff. Its amazing how this one event caused such far reaching stuff. Ah really wacky thing for ya guys about transport.
At the US Can border leaving Canada they are checking every car and truck. EXCEPT the ones carrying relief supplies. How hard would it be to put something in a relief truck and drive it over? Crazy. Way to trusting. IP: Logged |

Well here is some good news anyways.------------------------------------------ UPS REINSTATING ITS GUARANTEES UPS announced on Friday, Sept. 14 it would reinstate its domestic money-back delivery guarantees starting with packages picked up on Monday, Sept. 17. The decision follows the resumption of air operations on Friday, both in the United States and on international routes. The money-back guarantees will not apply to packages destined for certain areas of Manhattan closed by the city of New York, or to portions of Washington, D.C., in and around the Pentagon. UPS plans to reinstate international guarantees once all of its airport gateways around the world finish compliance with Federal Aviation Administration standards. Earlier Friday, UPS restored its U.S. air operations and successfully moved its Next Day AirŪ packages impacted by the tragic events of the past week. The U.S. domestic air system now is fully operational. Throughout the week, UPS's extensive ground network has operated normally, even as it expanded to keep air express packages moving. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, UPS is the world's largest express carrier and largest package delivery company, serving more than 200 countries and territories around the world.

5 days. That's not too bad. I've always perferred Her Majesty's Canadain Royal Mail myself. Although we got a cable tester a while back from New Brunswick over a week end via Air Express I think it was. I'm still waiting for my modem. I feel a nasty gram coming on.IP: Logged |

Actually normaly UPS takes 2 days. Last time I ordered a board from the same place I ordered it tuesday and had it thrusday morning I sent that board back via reguar post and it took about 7 business days. I requested the new board to be sent that way cause 7 days is fine with me, but they couldn't send it that way as they don't have someone on hand who can run all the packages down to the post office all the time. UPS picks up. What do you mean by a nasty gram?
