So any comments guys?

Me and a friend watched it and I recorded it, Its such a shame to record it onto VHS, it looks pretty freaking sweet on digital cable, makes me wish I had an S-VHS system.

I personally loved the way they showed boot camp.

And the 2 episodes back to back supprised me, I didn't even know about that.

Also I taped on a 2 hour tape, and when the first episode ran a little long I was worried I couldn't fit both on the 2 hour tape, luckly the second part wasn't quite and hour.

Oh yeah and the veterans talking at the beggining was cool.

I was thinking it would be great if they used stuff from this series in a history class.

Oh and that guy who shot without order at the ambush (and later on killed that group of prisoners) I would have threatened him with death next time he acted without my orders. Maybe thats just me, but he really knows how to put everyone at risk.

Typical of those creatures at Roger's and all the other TV plugs. Advertise something to death on Canadian Cable with no mention of digital or satelite then only show it on US channels. I want a dish!

I'm glad you liked it Spanky. You're a harsh critic and if you liked it, it must be good. My son is taping it so I will see it soon. I'm not sure I want to wait a week between episodes so I may wait until they are all taped and watch them over 2 or 3 days.

As a little side note, one of the soldiers who survives to the end is Don Malarkey. He lives in Salem, OR just South of me. He has seen the series and says that they "got it right". Quite a compliment.

*banging head against TV*

I don't get Band of Brothers! How long is the series? They'd be nuts not to release it on VHS box set and/or DVD later on. Didn't the Sopranos start out like this? HBO only then it went prime time on a network the rest of us get?

10 one hour episodes, Werner. Normandy, Arnhem (including, I read some British Airborne scenes), Bastogne and Eagles Nest included. $110 million to make, it will definately come to VHS/DVD. Take a look around the net, theres a trailer forthe first 2 episodes out. It looks great..

I'd really like to see this too, but unfortunatly I'm in the same boat as Werner, guess I'll just wait for the DVD.

I agree Jerry, if Spanky didn't chop it all to hell it might be good, I know that Tom Hanks put his heart and soul into it.

One other point for you Spanky, it can be a death sentence to disobey an order given in war time...

Hey guys,

Sunray, do you get TMN(the movie network)? Thats where its on in Canada.

They are showing the first 2 episodes that were on last night about 5 times this week.

As far as I know TMN is only on digital cable in most areas.

I don't have digital cable right now either, I was at a friends place with my Stereo VCR.

What channel were you expecting it to show on?

Wacky stuff Jerry, its great that he confirms they got it right.

Guys looking for it that can't watch it, I was thinking some one might vidcap it and release it on the net too, illegal of course but so are MP3s

The sopranos were on TMN too before hitting regular networks.

Seems TMN gets some of the good HBO series for broadcasting in Canada.

Psi "One other point for you Spanky, it can be a death sentence to disobey an order given in war time..." Thats what I thought.

I watched both episodes and thought it was
great. It was interesting to note the methods
used to take out the gun positions are still
being taught to West Point cadets to this
day.

What an incredible movie. In the "making of band of brothers", they said some of the survivors acted as technical advisors to the actors to make sure they "got it right".

I'm already hoping they do a movie on his new book, The Wild Blue.

I've spent time talking with WWII vets from all branches of the armed forces, and my dad's ship was blown out from under him at Savo island. People say we don't have eny heroes left, every one that saw combat is a hero in my book.
