I have to say that IL2 leaves SDOE in the dust. And thats just the demo. The truth is the game kicks!!

When the game is out I will be all over it. And Siggi has got the goods on the whole thing.

SDOE is not dead, it just in another zone.

I will see you on that forum soon I hope.

Don't flame me, just get on board.

Flame you? no way, get on board, no way! lol, IL2 will be a game to me, so I'll not be involved on the forums for it, but SDOE is my hobby. It's just like you said, they are in 2 different zones, but personaly I only play games when I'm bored or need a break, and for that I'm sure IL2 will be great when I finaly get my new graphic card..

So nat your saying you don't visit or join ANY other forums for other games you play?

Just because your not going to turn IL-2 into your reason for living you shouldn't join another forum?

I'm presently a member of TONS of forums.

LOL, I got my hands full right here Spanky. But no I don't join other forums, this is just me ofcourse, but I rarely play games on my PC, very rarely infact, I wouldn't have joined FSIC but for the interest in Open Plane and that I might be able to learn how to build 3D models. So when I say I wont be joining an IL2 forum, thats only because I never join game forums, and nothing against IL2 in anyway. Speaking of which.. I actualy managed to fly a couple of missions in the demo tonight boy is that IL2 a heavy bugger! but alot of fun to fly around, it's a shame it's not worth playing more often on my Duron 1Gig with 640Mb PC133 just because my graphics card is a Voodoo3 but enemy aircraft are so damn hard to make out they look like blotchy grey textures and not flying aircraft. I'm realy hoping the new gcard (GF2MX-400-64mb+TV) will mean I can realy take pleasue in flying IL2 There again.. I can also see the new SDOE high res textures aswell then!

Sweet stuff.

Yeah I can see a low res hurting your visability.

I join tons of forums, although not alot of game forums.

Tech forums, woodworking forums, log building forums. and such.

I'm currently in a great gun/hunting debate on ars-technica.com

Geez, Spanky, the firearms/hunting debate is one you can never win. There are too many people who believe what they see and hear on television and in movies is true.
I think the frigging Liberals are trying to find out who owns firearms here through Customs. I came back from the States a couple weeks back and they asked me if I 'owned' firearms. Not if I had any with me, but if I owned any. I sent an e-mail to the PM's Office asking him why they're asking. None of their business I figure. One of his lacky's replied rather quickly saying it was not their department but they'd send it on. Gotta find me a post hole auger and some ABS pipe to keep my property.

Yeah did you read any of the thread? Its really hard to win when the guy we are talking to refuses to answer any of our questions and just keeps calling us rednecks and farmboys that get off sexually when we play with guns.

That is insane, did you tell them that it was none of their business? Thats what I would have been tempted to do.

I personally have no problems with the goverment knowing if I have any guns and what they are, but they shouldn't try to find out like that.

I read about police stopping people for insurance checks, that alone doesn't bug me, but they were asking where they were coming from and where they were going, why the hell do they need to know that?

Having just had one of my buttons pushed...

Just why is it that when you try to have an intellectual conversation with someone on the "hunting/gun debate", and you're in favor of hunting and owning guns, that the opposition quickly degenerates to namecalling and personal attacks?

I'm so bloody sick of this! These folks are dead set to use the media and their use of language to deny us our 2nd Amendment rights, and when we point out ANYTHING to support our point of view, suddenly we're ignorant rednecks "who get off sexually with our guns".

You can do a funny thing with statistics. It's an easy thing to take stats on guns used in, say, domestic violence and then say that's the whole story. So, what happens when you begin to collect stats on how many times crimes were interupted when the perpetrators discovered that the intended victims were armed? Often, the mere sight of a firearm sent the perp off to find easier prey.

*^%$#!!!!!

So, any anti gun types out there... save the personal attacks and name calling! Resorting to that strips the veneer of intellectualism off you and reveals a shallow ignoramus.

And on that final note, it's many of these anti-gun folks who jump on the police accusing them of brutality, profiling and such, reducing their effectiveness, and thereby causing me to think I need to buy my first gun in 15 years!

Okay, I feel better now.

Probably should have moved this to the Flames forum... Sorry.

Respects,

Chaps

When I was young my dad was often away on courses (in the military) and we lived in the country, my dad showed my mom how to use the gun (I already knew how) because drunk guys had came to door in the middle of the night and it scared her.

She wasn't too fond of guns still, next time someone came to the door, I answered it with a hunting rifle, I'm not even sure if the guy opened his mouth while he walked backwards... slowly.

I just really don't understand what they have against hunters.

I woulnd't care if I couldn't get hand guns or simi autos or assult rifles or nothing, but whats so bad about shotguns and normal hunting rifles?

Are people out murdering other people with them? holding up banks and such?

I can see if you don't feel hurting or eating animals is right, as long as its ALL liveing things, (besides plant matter) and not just the cute fuzzy ones.
