Blacksheep Pilot	posted 08-26- 07:57 PM Well with the release of the Il 2 demo I realize it's time to put my current card out to pasture. Currently I have a 16mb TNT2. The frame rates in IL2 are incredibly slow with my current card. Well I've been looking around, I don't know much about Graphics cards but it seems you guys that have GeForce cards have nice frame rates in IL2. Anyway, at the Comp USA in my town there is a GeForce2 MX 64 mb graphics card for $130.00 dollars. It looks good to me, but I was curious will IL2 run smoothly with this card? Obviously SDOE will run better with it if IL2 does, so I won't ask that. If there is any other info you guys could tell me about this card I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. P.S. I saw a GeForce3 it was $399.00 dollars. Way out of my price range right now. Burkey Pilot	posted 08-26- 08:20 PM I have a 64mb Geforce2 mx, p3 600. Il-2 runs smooth past 1024*768. Didnt notice too much difference from 32mb TNT2 on operation flashpoint though... IP: Logged
Spanky the Mad Dog Pilot	posted 08-26- 10:06 PM If you look on http://www.pricewatch.com/ you will find that a Geforce 2 DDR 32meg is UNDER that price you will pay at the store your looking at. Look online and get a better vid card CHEAPER. The mx200 is 50 and the mx400 is 62. I would personally go for something like the Geforce 2 pro 64meg 125 or geforce 2 GTS 64meg 108 An MX would work for now, but the GTS or Pro will last longer and it seems like you were already ok with spending a bit over $100. Sparks Pilot	posted 08-26- 10:14 PM Hey Blacksheep, Take a look at Ebay...I picked up a Geforce2 Pro 64mb for around a hunderd. It was brand new sealed in the retail box. Two retail companies are saling the retail versions of the Geforce 2 Pro, and MX and the prices have been better then what I found on Pricewatch.com. IP: Logged

Razer Pilot	posted 08-26- 11:59 PM I'd save for the geforce3. it's the best card i've ever owned and it will run things not yet out. IL-2 is maxed and at 1024x768x32 and is completely smooth. IP: Logged
