Yeah, very good if you've got a good system. No pilot career though, which was a massive oversight. If they'd included this, it would have been a classic..IP: Logged |

Thijs: Very doubtful; if you had a 450, or even 333, then I'd say yes. It runs acceptably on my PIII 500, but took considerable tweaking - something I normally won't do for a game, but this one was worth it for me. One would think that a 700+ would be needed, but in truth, it has performed better on the mid range systems like mine. I think, though, that a 266 would be pressing one's luck.If you are ever able to upgrade, though, even to the 500 range, and you have a love for that theater like some of us do, then it is well worth it.

Don't quote me, guys, but I think maybe the Empire site still has it. Think the URL is www.empireinteractive.com , but I could be wrong. If you get to it, try the Worldwide or UK site. If you do get the demo, check first off for the cardbase.rc file and read it ( notepad ); make sure there is a listing for your vid card, or learn quickly how to make one; 50% of any possible problems will be solved there. And if you are lucky enough to have the demo work well, and decide to get the retail version, be sure to Uninstall the demo completely before installing the retail version. It's a finicky bird. Oh...and if you don't already have it, might be a good idea to get FRAPS ( www.fraps.com ). For some reason, running this seems to help reduce stutter, and it's handy to have on games that don't use fps counters ( except IL2, it doesn't work, likely because the demo isn't 'installed' ). Good luck, and hope you like it. It isn't SDOE, but it is a lot of fun, and very immersive for some. ------------------ nealg=FC= [This message has been edited by nealg (edited 08-27-2001).] [This message has been edited by nealg (edited 08-27-2001).] IP: Logged |
