Brings back a old memory of right after HS graduation; I worked briefly that summer for a crop dusting service as a flagman. I actually got to sit in one of the planes, though never got a flight. Skeered me ta death just sitting in it!! LOLI had no interest in planes at the time, so don't remember even what it was ( other than it was a bi plane, of course); I only remember thinking "Jeez, this thing can't fly!! No way!!'...hehehehehe!!!! Great pics, Mighty!!

Hi, guys. Sorry I haven't been around. Just been lazy, basically. I'm trying to get back into it, here.I got to fly every day I was visiting my dad. Last month, he flew the plane down to Kansas for its annual. Apparently the field he was landing at was an 1800' x 60' grass strip. He said he nailed the landing, but was so worried about how short the field was that he got careless on his rollout. The side of the runway wasn't marked, and by the time he realized he was off-line he hit a hay bale with his right gear. Sheared it right off. But he said the Great Lakes Trainer is remarkably rugged, so there's no damage to the rest of the plane. He says it'll be September before the guy fixing it can get to it. My dad called it an ego-buster. IP: Logged | |
