Just slapped in an 800 MHz celeron. It uses a 100MHZ FSB, has the SSE instruction set, and yes, the cache is STILL part of the CPU silicon.

Here's what I USED to get:
With a TNT2 32 MB card with the memory and GPU overclocked to 150 MHZ, a 400 MHZ celeron, and 256MB of ram- P-47 inside the cockpit 14-18 FPS, external 23 FPS; B-17 mission with 9 B-17's viewable using an external view 5-7 FPS

Here's what I get know WITHOUT overclocking the video card and only 192 MB of ram (pulled one stick for the other computer)
P-47 internal 33-38 FPS; external, up to 66 FPS!
B-17's same view as above, 18-20 FPS

All this for only $77 including the slot 1 adapter card, CPU, fan, and shipping.

IF you have a 100MHZ board, here's a pretty good option!

'scuze me- gotta go overclock the video card now

Yep shows you how CPU dependant SDOE is. I didn't notice much of a difference going from a banshee to a GFmx2.

But I bet when I reinstall SDOE on the duron 750 my frame rates will go up.

They were already really high but not stable.

Now is there any way I can figure out what this thing can support? Like some question I can ask the BIOS or something? There's nothing at all on the IBM site, even FINDING the machine is hard enough!

Maury, this is the curse of buying anything that says IBM on it. You can't get parts, you can't just add stuff and you can't get support for free. Not that you can from anywhere else. Try doing a search for it you may find a users group or forum.
